City of Auburn receives TIGER grant for riverfront trail

Congratulations to the central New York City of Auburn on winning a prestigious $590,000 Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) II grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the planning, design and engineering of a 6-mile riverfront multi-use trail along the Owasco River. When complete the trail will provide the only direct non-motorized connection between city neighborhoods, downtown Auburn, and Owasco Lake, one of the Finger Lakes.

The planning grant was one of two awarded in New York State and one of only four percent of TIGER II awards made to bicycle pedestrian projects.  Read PTNY’s letter of support.
