Herkimer-Oneida Counties Transportation Study (HOCTS), now has available its updated Herkimer and Oneida Counties bicycling atlas for outdoor enthusiasts. Interest in bicycling has increased due to an interest in healthier lifestyles, the development of new bicycle paths and trails, and the promotion of bicycle tourism. The 46-page atlas contains information on roads and multi-use trails for bicyclists, walkers, hikers, runners and tourists.
Some of the amenities of the atlas include:

- A section on New York State bicycling laws and safety
- A section on multi-use trails
- 32 maps
- Bicycling resources
- A list of local bicycle shops
- A calendar of events
- Trailhead parking locations
Free copies of the atlas are now available at tourist information centers, libraries, bike shops, any one of several locations along the Erie Canalway trail, or at the Herkimer-Oneida Counties Transportation Study offices located on the third floor of the Boehlert Center at Union Station, 321 Main Street, Utica. The atlas is also available on the HOCTS website, www.hocts.org. The online atlas will be updated as conditions change.
