Park, trail, and greenway grants available through CFA process

Applications due July 16

The second round of funding for park, trail and greenway grants is now underway. Applications through the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process are due July 16. Amongst the state agencies and authorities that have pooled resources to be made available through the CFA are the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the Canal Corporation and the Department of State.

Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP)

OPRHP is dedicating up to $16 million to the municipal grant program to fund matching grants for the acquisition, planning, development, and improvement of parks, trails, historic properties listed on the National or State Registers of Historic Places, and heritage areas identified in approved plans for statutorily designated Heritage Areas. Funds are available to municipalities or not-for-profits with an ownership interest. The maximum award is $500,000. Learn more about OPRHP’s grant programs.

Canal Corporation

The Canal Corporation is making available $1 million to municipalities and not-for-profit organizations for matching grants of between $50,000 and $150,000 for development and tourism promotion, construction or enhancement of the Canalway Trail, and canal community infrastructure projects.
