New York Times reports on state parks capital funding

New York’s state parks and historic sites were recently featured on the cover of the New York Times’ Metro section. The article reports on this year’s infusion of capital funding through the NY Works program to address critical infrastructure needs.  The story also highlights the tremendous work that remains to be done – State Parks estimates more than $1 billion in rehabilitation needs exist across the park system. As PTNY Parks Director Laura DiBetta says at the end of the article, we hope the money represents a down payment on a “multiyear commitment” to parks.
