Follow along with our Cycling the Erie Canal riders

Democrat & Chronicle staff writer Justin Murphy and videographer Annette Lein are among the 500 fellow bicycle riders taking the 400-mile trip along the Erie Canal, from Buffalo to Albany for this year’s 15th annual Cycling the Erie Canal bike tour.

Their trek started Sunday morning in North Tonawanda and will last through Sunday, July 14 when the riders complete their journey in Albany.  Justin and Annette are chronicling the trip, their fellow riders, people they meet and animal life they observe along the way – not to mention the physical toll the journey takes on them personally. Their tweets, blog and video posts are being collected in an easy to follow online feed so you can check on their progress and keep up as they cross the state. Slideshows of photos from each day’s ride are also available.
